When: Friday April 21st 2023, 1pm
Where: Meet at Cromer Pier, NR27 9HE
World Earth Day is an annual event in April to raise awareness and support for environmental protection. It includes thousands events across the world including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. This year Blakely are giving back by working with Surfers Against Sewage on their Million Mile Clean and we want you to join us...
Blakely is based on the East Coast of the UK and our founder and many of our team have grown up in the unspoilt surroundings of the North Norfolk coast spending many sunny days on it’s beaches and in the seaside towns.
This year on the 21st April we’ll be hosting our very own beach clean. Join us at Cromer Pier at 1pm on Friday the 21st April to take part, meet the team and make a difference on one of the many beaches we call home.
Over the last 30 years Surfers Against Sewage has grown into one of the UK’s most successful marine conservation and campaigning charities. From beach cleans to ambitious campaigns and educational programs to help young people understand the importance of caring for our Oceans their movement is recognised world wide.
In 2021 the Million Mile Clean was born. What if they could rally 100,000 volunteers to each clean 10 miles of blue, green or city space each year? To pick up the rubbish that covers our coastlines, canal paths, bridleways and city streets? Now the biggest initiative of its kind in the UK, the Million Mile Clean is an annual action bringing Ocean Activists together to tackle plastic pollution head on.
Closely tied to the UN Decade for Ocean Science, the Million Mile Clean will run every year until 2030, mobilising 1 million volunteers to clean over 10 million miles of UK landscape.
There's no need to register for this event, just join us on the day and we'll supply everything you'll need to take part. For more information please email millie@blakelyclothing.com
